Wood Carvings

Bob Plott is a master woodcarver and has been carving hiking staffs, walking canes, wall hangings and custom figurines for almost 40 years. Bob uses only wood native to the southern Appalachians including bass wood, mountain laurel, walnut, oak and hickory, but sometimes uses other trees, such as pear, as well.
His favorite subject matters include his beloved Plott Hounds, Cherokee characters, wildlife and grizzled mountaineers. He does full figures, as well as facial profiles or busts, all suitable for table displays or wall hangings. Functional hiking staffs and walking canes are other customer favorites, usually made from light, but durable mountain laurel, with unique carved faces.
Bob also is available for commission work. Just send him an email with a description or photo of what you want and he can send you a price and estimated completion date. Please note that commission work does require a non-refundable deposit to start the project, with the balance paid upon completion.
